Welcome to my blog. This is a page of my writings of a fictional set of characters from the Southern US. Cactus Pete plans to tell tall tales of his adventures, along with stories of his Uncle Mudwink, his best friend Shady, Mamaw and a few other folks along the way. My name is Ray, and I will be the one relaying all of these fine yarns for Pete, since his dear grandmother (Mamaw) will not allow him to use the Internet.

I quote Mamaw’s view of the web; “That heathern tool of the devil’s masses leads slam to the pit of destruction.” To which I can almost hear the sincere reply from Uncle Muddy: “That online thang is rottenin’ folks’ minds. We never had nothing such as that growin’ up. Didn’t need it.”

You get the idea. I am glad you stayed and read this far. I have developed this group of characters over a thirty-year period, and I believe its “about danged time” I let someone else in on it.
